A fresh start

Even after Jack Frost
attempts to spoil the show,

still, fresh flowers
bring joy
to the new day.

Happy Easter!

    1. Thanks, Dona. It's staying fresh outside near the entrance to the house. One good thing about cool temps. :)

    1. Thanks, TS! Good catch about the Vinca! I've never used it in an arrangement before, but it seems to work as trim around the edge. Happy Easter!

  5. Pretty pretty bouquet. Our area is at the exact same point in the blooming season...just waiting for the tulips to color.
    Happy Easter! Julie

    1. Thanks, Julie! Interesting that our plants are blooming in tandem. Yep, the Tulips are starting to color. I don't have many here because the rabbits eat them. But my Daffodils that I planted in the fall have been in bloom for two weeks! The cool weather is helping, and of course the rabbits don't like them. Cheers!

  6. Beth, I hope you had a wonderful Easter. The flowers you arranged are beautiful. I rescued a few from the frost too for inside. I doubt they were happy about it though being snipped clean from their base.

    1. Thanks, Donna! Yes, it was low-key and very pleasant. Hope you did, too. I'm worried about damage from two nights in a row in the high 20s -- but I can't protect everything in the garden. Que sera...

    1. Thank you, Bridget! Yes, it was nice. Believe it or not, the arrangement still looks fresh and colorful, several days later because I'm keeping it on the cool back porch.

  8. That's a very pretty Easter arrangement - nicer when it's from your own garden isn't it!

    1. Yes, that is true! I especially like the idea of having fresh flowers that I didn't have to purchase at the store. :)

    1. Thanks! I didn't even think to put Redbud with Daffodils. Usually the Daffodils are long gone before the Redbud blooms at its normal time--May! Yes, Easter was sweet. I hope yours was, too.

  10. Lovely, Beth! Jack Frost is playing games here, too; I have been putting blankets over a few blooming plants several nights.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter!

    1. Thanks, Rose. We're flirting with plant damage--but so far the cooler temps are simply holding the blooms in suspended animation. It's an incredible show!

  11. I hope things warm up for you soon. It sounds like our night time temps are not going to be as cold for the rest of the week.

    1. This is normal early April weather for us, but after 80s in March it's a little tougher to take. But it's better for the plants so I'm OK with it. :)
